The best moments in reading are when you come across something, a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things that you’d thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you’ve never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it’s as if a hand has come out and taken yours.
Standing at your doorway
With my stomach all
tangled n tight
Have it your way
Oh God, where are you tonight??
Cuz I don’t know what
I’m doing here
Or where to begin
So take a deep breath
But darling, don’t let me in
I start to feel like I can’t maintain the facade any longer, that I may just start to show through. And I wish I knew what was wrong. Maybe something about how stupid my whole life is. I don’t know. Why does the rest of the world put up with the hypocrisy, the need to put a happy face on sorrow, the need to keep on keeping on?… I don’t know the answer, I know only that I can’t. I don’t want any more vicissitudes, I don’t want any more of this try, try again stuff. I just want out. I’ve had it. I am so tired. I am twenty and I am already exhausted.
3 AM and your phone buzzes. you get a text. it reads, “i messed up. i cut.” you let out a heavy sigh and look outside your window to see another tree gone. when will your friend give up his lumberjack ways
i was not expecting this
Dad: Why do you think they do that?
Girl: Because the companies who make these try to trick the girls into buying the pink stuff instead of stuff boys want to buy. [x]
that awkward moment when a child understands the harm of forcing gender roles better than most grown male politicians.
I’m surprised that I haven’t reblogged this, to be honest.
I love that last gif. She looks so frustrated. Like “Um, hello, obviously girls and boys can like anything why doesn’t anybody get that???”
Omg why didn’t I think of this?!?

Have you ever met Daniel Radcliffe? Yeah, I screamed in his face. We were both doing Letterman. I grabbed him by the shoulder. Of course, I’m in 6-inch heels. That makes me 6-foot-4. I’m towering over him, saying, “I love Harry Potter!” His security people were nodding to each other—should we go?
